Crytek Looks To Shoot Up Asian Markets With Warface

This news actually popped up in my inbox on Thanksgving, but I just peeked at it now. In what's possibly some of the worst timing ever that might turn out to be profitable (if there's no REAL war and things cool down between the regions), It looks as it Crytek is tapping into the HUGE free-to-play online games market in Asian and (maybe not so amusingly enough) Korean markets with a great-looking online only shooter, Warface. Now, I'd imagine no one here is planning to move that far east anytime soon, but if you do, you'll have one more game to choose from in an Asian games market that's ridiculously competitive. Hell, I'd rather have all those real-life soldiers around the globe spend time shooting up each other virtually than on any real battlefield...








Crytek reveals Warface

Frankfurt (Germany) / Seoul (South-Korea), 25th November 2010 – Crytek today revealed details about its first online FPS Warface and released first images. The military shooter in its near future setting offers a cinematic experience with next gen visuals, AI and physics based on Crytek’s proprietary CryENGINE® 3 game development solution. Warface provides gamers with a constantly updated extensive PVE universe full of dramatic multiplayer co-op missions, a full set of class based PVP and will be available for PC. This new Crytek IP is especially dedicated to the Korean and other Asian markets and is co-produced by Crytek Seoul. Warface is supported by a free-to-play business model.
